Earlier this year och und junior launched the ‘line mese’ (‘line date’). The launch line mese 1.22 had a 39mm titanium case and a black dial featuring blue green hour hand, yellow minute hand, red second hand and red date dot.
Now, they are following it up with the line mese 2.22, the first ochs und junior watch to feature a PVD dial.
The Yves-Klein blue dial is made by Positive Coating, who are in La Chaux-de-Fonds. The blue PVD dial and month disc are paired with white indices, hands, and a white date indicator dot. The indices, hands and date dot all have white Super-LumiNova.
For those unfamiliar with ochs und junior, the 30+1 holes around the perimeter of the dial display the date. The 10 minute markers do double duty – so the marker indicating 30 minutes also shows the 15th day of the month.
The exact minute and second can be read by the ring of holes, spaced at 2-minute intervals. These perforations mark even-numbered minutes, whilst the spaces are the odd-numbered minutes.
Ludwig Oechslin replaced the standard 31 hole date disc with 31 holes in the dial and a precisely calculated curved dash. The holes are arranged in a spiral, with the 31st overlapping the 1st. The curved dash shows the 1st and the 31st, but not both at the same time.
Inside is the automatic Calibre 2824-2, modified by Ludwig Oechslin, beating at 28,800 VPH and with a power reserve of 38 hours.
The case, in titanium, measures 39mm (10.4mm thick) with a water resistance of 100m.
It comes on a blue-black Ecopell Enzian Nappa leather strap with a titanium buckle, handmade by Sabina Brägger of Berne.. The RRP is CHF 3,230 (excluding taxes) and you can get it directly from them at their online shop.
