NEW: Vacheron Constantin Traditionnelle Complete Calendar Openface

Meet Vacheron Constantin’s new Traditionnelle complete calendar. Coming in a 41mm (10.7mm thick) case in either 18K 5N pink gold or 18K white gold, this new timepiece puts a very 2020s spin on a familiar triple calendar face, courtesy of an open-worked sapphire dial side.

In terms of its inspiration, that lies in 2019’s Traditionnelle Twin Beat perpetual calendar.

The dial has three parts – the upper, the flange, and the sapphire crystal with 18k gold hour markers.

In going from the outside in, there is a slate grey opaline flange on which the dates are placed, and there is a railway minute track around the open-worked sapphire dial.

The upper part of the sapphire crystal dial features matching slate grey guilloché and applied 18k white gold or 18k 5N pink gold hour markers. The bi-facetted Dauphine hands are either 18K white gold or 18K 5N pink gold.

Alongside the hours and minutes is the day of the week in an aperture on the top left, the month in a similar aperture on the top right, and in addition to the triple calendar, a moon phase at 6 o’clock. The moon phase’s discs have photo realistic depictions of Earth transfers, and are covered with sapphire.

Through the open-worked sapphire dial can be seen the automatic Calibre 2460 QCL/2, whose anthracite mainplate and bridges are treated with NAC. It beats at 28,800 VPH and has a power reserve of 40 hours.

Of course what would a watch with a sapphire dial be without the same on the other side? The open-worked movement is also visible from the back.

Water-resistant to 30m, these two new Traditionnelle models come on a calfskin-lined grey Mississippiensis alligator strap with either an 18K 5N pink gold or 18K white gold pin buckle.

The RRP is AUD 68,000 (including taxes).
