NEW: Piaget Polo Panda Blue Chronograph Limited Edition

Piaget has added a new limited edition blue and silver ‘panda dial’ model to ts Polo Chronograph offerings, which currently includes dials in (dark) blue, or dark grey. This is, in fact, also the brand’s first foray into this style of dial.

For this variant, the familiar combination of cushion-shaped and round case is stainless steel, measuring 42mm x 11.2mm, and with a water resistance of 100m. The bezel and have to contrasting finishing – the bezel has a combination of horizontal graining and smooth polishing, the latter extending to the bezel. The sides of the case are finished in a brushed grain. The chronograph pushers are also polished.

The silvered guilloché dial has bold horizontal stripes, which give it added texture and depth. The bi-compax sub dials (30 minute counter at 3 o’clock, 12 hour counter at 9 o’clock) are dark blue, and each encircled with a silvered ring. Indices are appliqué in a silver finish, and filled with lume, as are the steel dauphin hands. The centre seconds hand has a counterweight with the Piaget logo.

It is all powered by Piaget’s automatic 1160P column wheel chronograph movement (called the 1160 Blue in this instance, referring to the coloring of the rotor), beating at 28,800 VPH and with a power reserve of 50 hours. With a thickness of 5.72mm, its finishing includes Côtes de Genève, a circular-grained mainplate, and bevelled bridges. The blue rotor is engraved with the Piaget coat of arms, and the screws are blued as well.

Coming on a blue rubber strap with a steel folding clasp, the new Polo Panda Blue Chronograph is limited to 888 pieces. The Australian RRP for this new luxury sports chronograph is $23,900 (including taxes)/ CHF 15,300 (including taxes).
