Another day another move, with news that Tudor’s CEO Mr. Philippe Peverelli, who has lead the Rolex younger sibling since 2009, will be moving to the big R to run the Rolex Group’s merchandising division Roledeco, which handles boutique design and visual merchandising for both Rolex and Tudor.
His tenure at Tudor has been notable for a rather astonishingly rapid revitalisation of a previously somewhat sleepy brand that was well known to those in many Asian markets but perhaps not so much beyond that, into one with an increasingly strong international presence. Tudor’s annual releases (notably in the Heritage Collection, which was created during his time) are now arguably as eagerly anticipated as Rolex ones amongst many watch enthusiasts, and a more recent focus on developing in-house movements is of particular note.
After the massive growth of his era, Mr Peverelli’s sucessor will no doubt be watched with great interest.
