Irish brothers John and Stephen McGonigle’s first watch, launched in 2007, was a tourbillon that earned them candidacy to the AHCI (Académie Horlogère des Créateurs Indépendants). Their second watch the ‘Tuscar’, named after a lighthouse marked group of rocks that skirt the coast of Ireland, was announced at Baselworld in 2011.
To be created in a limited edition of ten pieces in white gold with their own Calibre McG01 manual wind movement inside, the Tuscar very quickly sold out.
Two nights ago here in Geneva, I was privileged to be present for the handing over of “one of ten”, the first Tuscar to be delivered to its owner.
This post is by way of a teaser post to share a photo of a very striking and beautiful watch. Look out soon for more photos and an in-depth look at this rare, very attractive and desirable watch.
Congratulations to the rather thrilled owner of “one of ten”, to whom I wish to send my heartfelt thanks for allowing me to share in ‘handover evening’ and even wear it for awhile, and congratulations also to John, who is now a full member of the AHCI.
