NOMOS Glashütte’s Zürich Worldtimer, which won a number of awards after its launch, is joined by a younger less dressy sibling – the Club Sport neomatik Worldtimer. Featuring a new movement, it comes in two core models in silver and blue, and six models limited to 175 pieces each.
As befits the new model’s positioning within the collection families, this worldtimer is about informality, and about colour. There are two core model variants in silver or blue, and six limited editions which are about adventurous adventures in colour combinations. In a way you could say that it’s ‘same same but different’ to Moser’s new Pop Collection.
The Club Sport neomatik Worldtimer comes in a 40mm (9.9mm thick) stainless steel case, with a main dial featuring sunburst finishing and unconventionally, the second time zone is situated between 2 o’clock and 4 o’clock, with a single hand indicating the second time.
Twenty-four different time zones are listed in a traditional manner on the outer city ring, with a red line above 12 o’clock marking the region selected as the local time zone. The 24-hour sub dial for the second time zone can be your home time or some other time – day/ night is indicated by the use of different colours. The pusher at 2 o’clock is used to adjust the city disc and hour hand. There is also a red ring around the crown – if it’s red then that’s a warning that the crown has not been screwed down.
This third neomatik movement’s worldtimer complication is integrated into the new in-house automatic DUW 3202. Beating at 21,600 VPH, it has a power reserve of 42 hours. It features a stop-seconds, bi-directional rotor, DUW regulation system, a Glashütte three-quarter plate, and decoration-wise, blued screws, rhodium-plated surfaces with Glashütte ribbing, NOMOS perlage, and Glashütte sunburst.
The colourful limited edition model variants have nature-oriented colour names – Volcano, Jungle, Canyon, Glacier, Magma, and Dune, but the pricing for all models of the NOMOS Glashütte Club Sport neomatik Worldtimer is the same. The Australian RRP is $7,790.
