Meet the newest Excalibur from Roger Dubuis – the Monobalancier (‘MB’), released in two new references – both in a 42mm EON GOLD™ case but one with a diamond-set bezel. The case material is a proprietary 4N gold alloy that is less sensitive to discolourisation, and is water resistant to 100m.
They are pure classic Dubuis, with the sharply defined fluted bezel and signature star-shaped bridge with its prominent position on the skeletonised dial.
The new Excalibur Monobalancier EON Gold™ has a new automatic RD 720SQ movement with an also newly designed micro-rotor with the Dubuis logo, beating at 28,800 VPH and with a power reserve of 72 hours. Finishing includes shot-blasting and circular graining and the surfaces of the skeletonised movement are a mix of pink gold, and PVD and NAC coating.
According to Roger Dubuis, the new escape wheel makes it more efficient because of the use of a new form of (unamed) lubrication, and a new diamond-coated silicon pallet.
The regular model’s dominant colour on the dial side is grey, with an engraved minute track, polished and pink gold-plated hour markers and gold hands. It comes on a black calf strap which has a Dubuis quick release system.
The gemstone-set reference has round diamonds in the EON Gold™ bezel, a pink gold-plated flange with engraved minute track, polished black hour markers, and gold hands. It comes on a purple calf strap that also has the brand’s quick release system.
At 42mm with a thickness of 12.7mm, these are very wearable from a size perspective for a large range of wrists. The Roger Dubuis lug and strap design also mean that they sit low on the wrist.
The RRP of the Excalibur MB EON Gold™ 42mm Reference RDDBEX0954 is AUD 109,000 and for the diamond-set Reference RDDBEX0953, AUD 118,000.
