Japan may still be insisting that the delayed Summer Olympics will take place but meanwhile, some minds are turning to the next one beyond that. Omega has launched a special edition Seamaster Diver 300M to mark the Beijing Winter Olympics, to be held in 2022.

Coming in a 42mm stainless steel case, it has a grade 5 titanium unidirectional bezel featuring a 60-minute diving scale in relief.

The blue dial is ceramic, with the familiar wave pattern laser-engraved, and the rhodium-plated indices and hands are filled with Super-LumiNova. An Olympic nod comes in the form of five minute-markers at 2 o’clock, 4 o’clock, 8 o’clock, 10 o’clock and 12 o’clock, in the colours of the Olympic rings.

The Olympics references continue on the back side, with a stamped Olympic Winter Games Beijing 2022 emblem. Beneath it is the familiar automatic Co-Axial Master Chronomater Calibre 8800 which beats at 25,200 VPH and has a power reserve of 55 hours. It is resistant to 15,000 gauss, and has a Rhodium-plated finish with Geneva waves in arabesque. It has a Rhodium-plated finishing.

There is a helium escape valve and water resistance is 300m. Coming on a stainless steel bracelet with a combination of polished and brushed finishing with the brand’s patented diver extension, it will be available from April 2021, with an RRP of AU$9,425.
