VIDEO : What is a ‘tourbillon’?

In today’s post, which is part of Horologium’s occasional series sharing horologically themed videos of interest, we got to IWC in Shaffhausen. Last year IWC launched a series of “The Man’s Guide to…” videos with a focus on buying a watch. This year, they are going more in-depth with a focus on movements with “The Man’s Guide to Haute Horlogerie”, of which episode one (of seven) about the tourbillon has just been launched.

After an introduction by CEO Georges Kern, IWC Museum Curator David Seffyer and Technical Director Stefan Ihnen do the honours in explaining the legendary complication by Abraham-Louis Breguet and how IWC uses this complication.

Whether you are a male or female fan of IWC and watches, enjoy!
